Visitors

We were so excited when Grandma and Grandpa decided to drive down to see us. It was a quick visit but it was so much fun. We went to Walnut Canyon to see the Indian ruins. They were really neat and there were a lot of them.

One of my favorite things about visits from family is watching other people that love Lexi interact with her. Grandma and Grandpa really love her and she's lucky to have them.

Cole and I had to speak in church the Sunday my parents were in town so they kindly watched Lexi while we did that. Thanks for coming and helping us Mom and Dad. We love you!

9 months old

Lexi is now 9 months old. Her Doctor's appointment went well. She is getting skinny now that she's moving so much. Her weight is down to the 22% (17.2 lbs) and her height is now the 33% (27 inches). I am pretty sad she's getting skinny. I love her chunky legs but they are slimming way down. Her development is right on track and in some areas "advanced". She can crawl, pull herself up to things, go up all 16 of my stairs, wave bye bye, clap, say mama, let you know when she needs a diaper change, and a lot of other things. She still doesn't have any teeth but I am glad about that.

Stairs

Today Lexi climbed up the stairs for the first time. Cole tried to teach her last week and I begged him not to. Well it looks like he is an effective teacher because after only one lesson she's figured it out. She's developing a lot of new skills and loves exploring the world around her. I just wish she didn't feel the need to put everything she finds in her mouth. Crawling is hard on a germaphobic mother.

Grand Canyon

We went to the Grand Canyon last weekend for free national parks day. We had a good time and Lexi was a great trooper. Other than me flashing a large group of people while trying to nurse Lexi it all went really well. The weather was great and it was nice to be able to go for free (normally it's $25). After a while we were walking around and Lexi had just had it. She fell asleep in Cole's arms without a peep. I'm glad she is so adaptable and can do that.

Anniversary

Do you notice anything about this picture? It's just me and Cole. For our anniversary our friend Jen offered to watch Lexi for us so we could go out alone. It was so nice of her. I haven't ever left Lexi with someone before so it was hard for me. It made me grateful that I am a stay at home Mom and don't have to send her to daycare. Jen is such a good friend and was so good with Lexi. Cole asked me when we got to the restaurant if I was going to be able to enjoy it and I honestly didn't know if I would but I did. We got to talk and concentrate on eachother and it was really nice. Thanks Jen!

I didn't know

3 1/2 months old

Dear Lexi,

I didn't know I could love you this much. I always knew that I'd love you but I didn't know that I would love you this much. I didn't know it was possible. I am so glad you are part of my life. You make me smile and bring a warm feeling into my heart. I love that you love me. You make my day when you cry for me and say, "mamamamamama". I am so glad I get to spend my days...and nights with you. I consider it a privilege and honor to be your mother. I was overwhelmed with my love and gratitude for you today and hope that someday you know how much you mean to me. I love you so much.

Love,
Mama

4th Festivities and Fun

We had a great time in Utah with my family over the 4th of July. It felt so good to be around family and makes me wish I could enjoy that feeling all the time. I'm lucky to have such a great family.

Enjoying AF canyon with my family

We had fun bowling with my family

Me and Lexi with my cousin Melissa and her newest daughter Emily. She is so cute and sweet. It was so good to see my cousin and her family.

A family photo. This is Lexi's latest smile. She doesn't believe in showing her lips anymore. Our friends call it the old lady smile.

My Mom, aunts, and grandma. These women are so special to me and have influenced my life so much. I love them so much!

My grandma is turning 80 this month and I wish I could be there to celebrate with her

Lexi had fun swimming during our 4th festivities. She was really tired though and went to bed after this so she missed seeing her first fireworks.

Four generation picture with Lexi, Michelle, Janet, and Irene

Just have to throw in a few cute pictures of Lexi to show my Mom

Lexi's first doll. She loves it and went crazy the first time she saw it.
