Too Smart

Carter is still the cutest little boy ever. He is starting to get bored because he's too smart. His mind is wanting to do more than his body can. He can roll both ways and sit up supported. He loves to grab things and hold things. He has really good control with his hands and plays with objects well. He likes to scratch at things. He still hates baby food but I make him eat it because he sleeps better when he does. He said mama the other day and says nana a lot. I love hearing his little voice. He always greets me with a smile and warms my day. Someone recently asked me what brings me joy and one of the things I said was Carters smile.

Questions

Lexi has been asking some good questions lately.
-Where does Heavenly Father live
-Where is Heavenly Father
-Where is their car
-Can I talk to them
It's interesting how hard these questions can be to answer on the level of a 3 year olds understanding. Heaven is such an abstract concept. It's also hard to explain why she can't go in the temple. I love that she's thinking about these things. Family home evening and nursery have been wonderful at helping her want to learn more about the Gospel. I try to always tell her how much Heavenly Father and Jesus love her because I know they love her and all of us. I hope she knows that and will continue to grow in the Gospel. I look forward to the day I can go with her to the temple to take out her endowments.

Fall

We drove the Alpine Loop this weekend and enjoyed all the fall colored leaves. We kept telling Lexi how pretty they were and she told us she didn't like them. Go figure! We stopped to take a few pictures of Lexi in the leaves.

Lincoln's Fireside

Cole's brother, Lincoln, has been serving a mission in the Salt Lake spanish speaking mission. His mission held a testimony meeting for the missionaries going home where they could invite anyone, including family, to come hear their testimonies. We met him for dinner and then went to the testimony meeting. We loved hearing his testimony and could tell he was a great missionary. He really stood out and we were so proud of him.

Dentist

Lexi went to the Dentist for the first time this month. It was a great success. I was really nervous about how she'd do. The hygienist came in and talked to Lexi about princesses and her cute clothes and that really opened Lexi up and helped her smile and love the experience. They did a light cleaning and Lexi liked everything but the water so they let her drink water from a cup instead. They gave her a princess toothbrush and floss sticks and bubble gum toothpaste. She was in heaven with her bag full of cleaning supplies. She kept telling me she couldn't wait to open her things up. She was so excited to brush her teeth when we got home. Her teeth looked great and the doctor gave her a coin to get a prize from his machine. She got a sticky dart. I thought she'd hate it but that dart turned into pretend fingernail polish and pretend bubbles. I love Lexi's imagination! Carter stayed at my cousins house during her appointment and did really well there. I am so glad to have kind family near that can help out.
