Carter is now 4 months old. He had his shots today and is doing well. He is 28% weight, 12% height, and 14% head. He is still all smiles but sometimes he cries when he is in a large crowd. His favorite person is Lexi! She can make him laugh without even trying. He lights up anytime she pays attention to him. It's fun to see them have such a strong connection already. Carter does well being on his own but only for a while and then he likes to be held and part of things. He likes the bumbo, swing, and bouncer. He has fast hands and always has a good grip around my hair. He puts himself to sleep by sucking his fingers but has a hard time falling asleep outside of his crib. He doesn't like his binky anymore. His sleep durations fluctuate a lot. He can do a 7 hr stretch one night and the next only a 3 hr stretch. He doesn't like his car seat very much. He started rolling from his tummy to his back a few weeks ago and sleeps on his stomach or side. He likes to talk and makes the sweetest sounds. He is a delight and such an easy baby.
Lexi is hilarious. One minute I'm yelling at her and the next I'm laughing at her. She says the funniest things. One of my favorite things she's done lately is when she gave her cousins a tour of our house. She showed them all the rooms and told them who was sleeping where. She would demonstrate where they would sleep and how. Then she got to the sliding door and pointed outside and said, "these are my stones." I also had a good conversation with Lexi recently during a diaper change:
Lexi: Mom I want to touch my poop
Me: No, Lexi that's gross
Lexi: Please Mom I want to touch it
Me: Ew! No Lexi that's disgusting we don't touch poop
Lexi: But it's MINE
Me: Yes, Lexi it is yours but you can't touch it
Lexi: Why?
Me: Because it is caca
Needless to say she can really make me laugh. She has no interest in potty training. She is very strong willed and is striving to become independent. She's getting really smart. She's picking up on colors, shapes, gospel teachings, and life routines. She loves to wear "princess" dresses everyday she can. She's a good sport when they're dirty and will wear other things. She still talks about some of her Flagstaff friends which surprises me that she still remembers them. She loves her new nursery teachers and practically runs to class now. She's had a lot of fun with her cousins and loves any excuse to see them. She's a riot and we love her.
